Date Protection Law

Due to the fact that the European law overlaps the national Data Protection Law the Data Protection Law is not very user friendly: Both the national Federal Data Protection Act and the Provisions of the European General Data Protection Regulation which has been in force since 25 May 2018 apply in parallel which makes it difficult to keep track of the applicable provisions. Despite this difficulty, it is the legislator's express intention to sanction even negligent violations of the Data Protection Law deterrently. We advise companies as well as internal and external data protection officers and represent their interest in front of the controlling authorities and in court proceedings.
